ORIGINAL COLLECTOR'S ITEMS

The items on this page are all original collector items with the exception of a very few replicas that are deemed to be of high enough quality to be of interest to collectors.  Usually these will be either daggers, knives, or swords, but occasionally I acquire pieces of other antique militaria that will be of interest to collectors and will place them for sale here.

Item No. O-0003
     SOLD

Nationalist Chinese Army Military Academy Presentation Dagger.
Very good condition.  Push button locking device; handle is covered with nearly black faux tortise shell and wire wound; very unusual leather frog for a Chinese military dagger; scabbard is in excellent condition with no dents or dings.  The inscription on the obverse of the handle reads: "Present of Jiang-Zhong-Zheng Principal of Military Academy."  I believe that is the Chinese name for Chaing-Kai-Shek.  The inscription on the reverse of the handle reads: "Third Year Military College Officer Graduation."  The inscription stamped into the ricasso reads: "For Success."  These type daggers were presented to graduates of the Whampoa Military Academy before WWII.  I have been informed that this dagger may be a reproduction, however I believe it to be genuine, but I am pricing it as though it were a repro.  If it is genuine, and  you buy it, you have made a great purchase.  If it is a repro, you have not done badly.

Item No. O-0016

WWII German Naval Dagger REPLICA.  Although this is a replica dagger, everything about it from the eagle on the pommel to the maker's mark on the ricasso, to the etched blade, scream ORIGINAL!!  If you cannot afford $1,000 -$1,500 for an original for your collection, this is the next best thing.  In 12 years of collecting daggers this is only the second replica of a German Navy dagger I have seen, and this is far superior to the first one I saw.
Price: $300.00
S&H:   $10.50

Item No. O-0016
Italian Fascist MVSN Dress Dagger M-1937 (Replica).  MSVN stands for "Milizia Volontaria per la Sicurezza Nazionale" which means "Volunteer Militia for National Security.  On the bottom of the eagle on the hanger are the letters "SPQR" which stands for "Senatus Populus Que Romanus" or "The Senate and the People of Rome."  This is an old symbol used on the military standards of the Roman Legions.  The blade is enscribed with: "PER L'HONORE DELL'ITALIA" which means "For the Honor of Italy." Although this is a replica, it is a very high quality one, and considering that an original with hanger and portapee would cost over $2,000.00, this is a real bargain that any collector would be proud to own.
Price: $280.00
S&H:   $10.50

Item No. O-0017
Indonesian Army Dagger c.1950s.  The pommel of the dagger has a Golden Eagle's head on it.  On the brass scabbard is the Indonesian Coat-of-Arms which consists of a Golden Eagle with spread wings called a "Garuda" and is a figure from ancient Indonesian epics.  Overall length: 11', Blade length: 6 5/8".  The blade has a few light rust spots and the brass handle a few corrosion spots (easily cleaned off).   The leather is getting a bit brittle from age.  Still a very collectable dagger.  These daggers are fairly rare and difficult to find.
Price: $125.00
S&H:   $10.50

Item No. O-0018   SOLD
Antique Pre-Civil War Seaman's cutlass.  The total length is 29.1", blade length
is 23.6".  The blade and handguard are both rusty but no pitting, but still in
serviceable condition and very sharp.  Seaman's cutlasses tend to be smaller than regular swords
because they were used to fight in confined spaces aboard ship.  This one has a bone
handle and comes with what I believe is the original leather scabbard.  The scabbard
is missing a couple of stitches but is overall in excellent condition for its age.  This
cutlass has the potential to be the centerpiece of any sword or cutlass collection.

rings.  A nice decorative dagger.

Item No. O-0021
Argentine "Tacuara" Fascist Youth Group Knife.  Tacuara was officially created at the end of 1957, first under the name of Grupo Tacuara de la Juventud Nacionalista (Tacuara Group of Nationalist Youth).  It was mostly formed by young offspring of Buenos Aires' high and medium bourgeoisie (almost all males), who were active in the Union de Estudiantes Nacionalistas Secundarios (UNES) students’ union and the Alianza de la Juventud Nacionalista (Alliance of Nationalist Youth). Although strongest in Buenos Aires, during its peak the group spread all over the country.  The group was fanatically nationalistic and like their Nazi youth group counterparts hated Jews and attacked many of them.  While Argentine nationalism was influenced by Fascism and Nazism, this influence was reinforced by the arrival of Nazi exiles fleeing from Germany after 1945.  This is a fairly rare knife from a little known fascist youth movement.

O-0023
Two old Main Gauche daggers.  Each is about 30" overall length.  If I remember correctly these daggers were made in England during the late 1800s from bayonet blades.  Although these are rusty they should clean up nicely and make a great wall display.  They normally sell for about $100 - $150 each on eBay.  Here is your chance to pick  up two of them at a greatly reduced price.
Price: $120.00
S&H:  $  14.50
